No event in history has shaped western culture more than what happened on the cross at Calvary over 2000 years ago. Our modern beliefs about freedom, humility, charity, human rights, the significance of children, even our expectation of how leaders should lead, our view of all these things is different today because of the cross.
You may not see the connection. You may not know or believe the history surrounding the cross, but today you live in a cruciform shaped culture – a culture radically changed by the death of one man on a cross.
For the next four weeks we’ll see four people who are part of that history. Their reaction to Christ on the cross is no different than our own.
At the cross, our paths cross in so many more ways than anyone could expect.
