- Chad Balthrop
Every where I turn someone's volunteering to do something else? I wonder why you volunteer?
In my experience people volunteer for 3 reasons.
- They see a need - maybe the preschool ministry needs more help.
- They just want to do it - maybe they like kids so they volunteer to serve with kids.
- They are called by God to do something.
All three reasons are valid, noble reasons to serve. Jesus was in the habit of moving people from where they were to where they should be. He met people right at the point of their need and tried to take them into the life he intended them to have.
He's doing the same with you. In this next season, wherever you serve, recognize that God is trying to meet you where you are and take you where you're supposed to be. If you're serving out of need or want you are to be commended. Thanks for your service. As you serve begin to pray about your calling. What has God called you to do?
Discover Your Calling
Not sure of your calling? Take some time to pray through your dreams and desires, knowledge, experience, background and interests. Add to this OBEDIENCE to God and His Word as well as SACRIFICE for His Kingdom and the sake of others and you will discover your calling.
You are so much more than JUST a volunteer. You are on MISSION for God.
Live your mission today.
