“Something to Wag About”

Dear FBCO Friend:

A boy wanted a puppy. So on his sixth birthday his dad took him to pick one out of a liter of puppies. The boy looked into the box full of puppies and he picked up the one little puppy that was wagging his tail enthusiastically. The little boy said, “Dad, I want the puppy with the happy ending!”

I assure you, if you love God and if you are called according to his promise, you can claim Romans 8:28: “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”  Not everything that happens to us is good. Some things that happen just stink. Yet God takes it all—the good and the bad and mixes it together for good for those who love and serve God. Sunday at 9:00 and 10:45 I will preach on “God’s Perfect Promise” from Romans 8:28.  Be present in Sunday School and Worship as we learn the tremendous truths of one of the most loved verses of the Scripture. Bring a friend!

THANK-YOU! THANK-YOU! THANK-YOU! For the way you served and invited people to Easter and loved the people present. Thanks to all of you helped blitz 15,000 homes before Easter. On Easter Sunday, counting Preschool we had conservatively between 2,100-2,200 people on campus to hear the greatest story ever told.  He is risen! He is risen indeed!! Invite people to Worship and Sunday School this Sunday—He is Lord twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week!

NEW COMMUNITY AT 6:00:  This Sunday we will see how God used 114 of our students and adults to spread the love of Christ in Guerro, Mexico. In spite of huge obstacles our group built 5 houses and led in a carnival, Bible Study, etc. so that around 90 people were saved.

MISSIONS FAIR:  God is using FBCO as a mission base to touch the world. April 4-6 we will have our first Missions Fair! We will highlight 3 of our mission ministries in Venezuela, Mexico, and Cambodia. You will get a taste of what God is doing and how you can be part of it. Check Sunday’s bulletin for a time for your Sunday School class to hear from these missionaries on Friday April 4.

DEACON REVITALIZATION: We are taking our deacon ministry to a new level. For all new and potential deacons we will meet Sunday at 4:00.  Please come and learn about the Biblical qualifications and what deacons do at FBCO. Deacons who are servants and who protect the unity of the church are dear to me. Even if you can’t serve now, you will learn what this is all about.

BIBLE BYTE:  “For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” 2 Chronicles 16:9

Church, God supports those whose heart is His. He does work all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. I love you for your Christ-like spirit. See you Sunday!
