How to Give

Simple Definitions

Tithing - giving 10% of everything God gives you as an act of worship and simple obedience.

Generosity - more than 10%, this is giving out of the abundance of what God has given you.

Sacrifice - greater than generosity, sacrifice is giving more than you think you can afford and trusting God to provide.

How May I Give?

First Baptist Owasso is known as a generous church because the people of First Baptist Owasso are generous people. Generally there are two ways people give. They either give to the General Fund or they make a Designated Gift.

Designated Giving
Sometimes people will give a gift and designate it for a specific purpose, like the purchase of a van or in order to pay a student's way to camp. This is a great way to give and we certainly appreciate the gift. Something to keep in mind when giving this way is that a designated gift is a SHORT term investment in a single ministry resource. In other words, you give once. That gift is spent on that one time ministry resource and the effect of the gift ends there.

General Fund
A gift to the General Fund is a LONG term investment that benefits literally hundreds of ministries, thousands of people and enables this church to provide continuous support through ongoing mission partnerships worldwide. Gifts to the general fund provide support for the Church in Owasso, and the Church around the world!
