- Chad Balthrop
How's your faith? Faith is one of the most misunderstood qualities of the Christian life today.
Faith is NOT:
- Blind belief in the unlikely, improbable or impossible.
- Wishful dreaming.
- The power of positive thinking.
- Passive inactivity.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). Real faith is not as basic as belief and not as complicated as some kind of contrived emotional experience. Faith has substance, enough substance that in whatever situation you find yourself today the evidence of your faith should be clearly seen by everyone around you.
This doesn't mean you're some kind of weird Bible-thumpin' zealot. It simply means your attitudes and actions are a reflection of God at work in you. Rather than choosing what's easy, expedient or popular, you choose what's right.
Faith is the evidence of God in you.
