Cambodia Team Returns Home Safely!

Posted on 21. Jan, 2011 by in Cambodia, Featured, Headlines, Mission

Owasso - Our team to Cambodia returned home safely. They’re a bit jet-lagged and the transition from 80 degrees and high humidity to freezing cold with snow and ice is always a challenge! Their work was effective and our prayer were answered. See a note from Mike Roark below.

We’re glad you’re home and excited to hear more – January 30th @ 6:00pm during the Gathering at Disciple University.

Church,

We arrived back from Cambodia yesterday afternoon.  Our (my) heads are not screwed on striaght yet, but it is good to be home and away from that oppressive hi 80′s temperature and sunshine and back into the snow and ice!

Our trip was successfful I think.  Not exactly the way we had planned in terms of itinierary and activities, but I do believe without doubt it was what God intended.  That is almost always the case.  We go with a plan; ask God to direct; and He, like the heart of the king, turns us whithersoever He will.  He did!

Brother Chuck storied the Bible and we showed the Jesus Film on the island in their own language.  We did some medicine.  We wormed some kids.  We encouraged some pastors.  We were able to spend some time with another young pastor and his wife in their ministry at the Phnom City dump village.  It may be a direction we will be headed in terms of some new ministries in Cambodia.  It was a trip that helped re-define and sharpen our focus on our ongoing work in Cambodia.  God made it clear to us that He is in charge of what we do there and is completely Able.

We saw a country demonstrating and experiencing the result of generations of rejection of the God of the Bible; the Most High God.  Yet we saw evidences of His restorative work and redemptive plan among the many lost.  We were reminded that it is HIS work and not our own.  We are not the only ones he has there.  He does not need us, but gloriously conscripts us and allows us to be used by Him as He calls those whom He adds to the Kingdom.  What a joy!  What a real Joy!

We are tired but happy.  Please pray for Denise (Robertson) that she will quickly recover from a bad cold that began a day or two before we left.  The traveling is hard anyway, but extra difficult when one is sick.

Thank you for praying for us while we were gone.  Looking forward to seeing each of you.
